At the Table We Are All Family

In 2014 Leah Ferrazzani launched a dried pasta brand out of her home kitchen, naming it Semolina Artisanal Pasta to capture her commitment to craft. Over the course of a decade, Semolina's pastas became a pantry staple for discerning home cooks and chefs, selling at independent markets and gourmet grocers like Whole Foods and Bristol Farms and served in area restaurants like Hippo and Yang's Kitchen.

In 2024, Leah flipped Semolina's storefront into Ferrazzani's Pasta & Market, a neighborhood shop that offers the same delicious dried pasta (albeit in new packaging), fresh pasta, sandwiches, Italian Ice and a wide array of Italian-inspired goodies with the hope to make life more delicious and the community more connected. Come visit, we're excited to feed you.

From Semolina to Ferrazzani's Pasta & Market

Cottage Food

In 2014, Leah Ferrazzani launched Semolina Artisanal Pasta out of her house, converting her laundry room into a pasta dryer and selling to independent shops across Los Angeles.

Semolina Artisanal Pasta launches at Whole Foods

After moving to our first commercial kitchen, I launched Semolina Artisanal Pasta into Whole Foods and other gourmet grocers.

Semolina Moves Onto Lincoln Ave.

After a couple of years at a commercial kitchen in Lincoln Heights, Semolina moves to Lincoln Ave. on the edge of Pasadena and Altadena.

Fresh Pasta for the People

At the urging of Chef Matt Molina at Hippo in Highland Park we launch fresh pasta, first for restaurants and eventually to the public at our storefront.

Semolina Wins a Good Food Award

With nearly 250 retailers, Semolina wins the first of two Good Food Awards for dried pastas.

Lunch Gets More Interesting

Semolina expands next door during the pandemic, and in 2022 with the help of our lead pasta maker, we start making sandwiches a few days a week to feed our hungry neighbors as pandemic restrictions start to wane.

Semolina Becomes Ferrazzani's

After nearly 10 years operating as Semolina Artisanal Pasta, Leah rebrands the shop and reopen as Ferrazzani's Pasta & Market.

Our Team

From the kitchen to the shop, our team is here to care for you every day.

Leah Ferrazzani

Food is Leah's love language, particularly pasta, which is why she's dedicated the last decade of her life to the craft. And she loves talking to people and learning about them. Her favorite pasta dish is tortellini en brodo, with Cacio e Pepe a close runner up.

Ana Barahona

Ana makes a lot of pasta here at Ferrazzani's, but her true passion is baking. We have Ana to thank for the Ricciarelli you all love, and she has a gift for working out the recipes trapped in my head. Her favorite pasta is Bucatini all'Amatriciana.

Ian Fenton

Ian is the other half of our small kitchen team. He has learned to make new pastas with enthusiasm and has honed our recipes, come up with some new ones, and brings calm and care to the kitchen, so that we can feed you better every day.

Todd Rosenfelt

We call Todd our utility knife. An OG Semolina Kickstarter supporter, Todd shows up and packs pasta, runs deliveries, handles customer service with ease and solves any problem that comes his way.

Holly Jones

A hospitality pro, Holly brings an incredible depth of knowledge of our products and care for our community. She's great for recipe ideas and her deep wine knowledge, and always fun to talk to about music and theater. Her favorite pasta dish to cook is cacio e pepe.

Kate Winschel

Kate is a graphic designer who moonlights at Ferrazzani's. She helped us immensely with our rebrand, but you know her as the smiling face behind the counter. She came to us as a customer first, and brings Ferrazzani hospitality to everything she does. Her favorite pasta dish is carbonara.

Sarah Alikhan

Sarah rocks the front of the house, but is equally adept in the kitchen. She brings warmth and curiosity to the shop, and a passion for cherry Italian Ice like no other. Her favorite pasta dish is Lasagna alla Bolognese, and also loves Bucatini Alfredo with loads of cracked pepper.

Lea Cafarelli-Cota

Lea comes from an Italian family and loves food and making music. She strives to make everyone feel welcome at the shop. Her favorite pasta dish is...

Hayden Ezzy

Hayden is an actor and comedian who finds joy in the little things like the smile on a kid's face when they eat an Italian Ice. His favorite pasta dish is...
